The CFDE Community Financial Empowerment Program provides youth, adults, and newcomer families with the basic financial knowledge and practical skills needed to build stability, independence, and long-term economic confidence.

  • Format: In-person / Online / Hybrid
  • Audience: Youth (13–18), Adults (18+), Newcomers & Immigrant Families
  • Duration: 60–90 minute sessions, 2-hour intensives, or 4-week series

True financial freedom isn’t a privilege reserved for a few; it’s a fundamental skill that should be accessible to every member of our community. This workshop is designed to demystify finance by breaking complex concepts into actionable, understandable steps. We replace anxiety with assurance and uncertainty with strategy. By providing you with the essential tools and knowledge, we empower you to take control of your financial future, make decisions with confidence, and build a foundation of stability and growth for yourself and your family.

PROGRAM ALIGNMENT:
Supports high schools, youth empowerment groups, adult programs, newcomer organizations, and
underserved communities.

Money flows, grows, and leaks. Most financial struggles come from habits, not income.

Credit score components:
Rules:

Pay on time, keep usage under 30%, preferably under $25 when building credit.

The 50/30/20 Rule:

Avoid payday loans, rent-to-own, subscription traps, and high-interest financing.

TFSA, RRSP, ETFs, index funds, and compound growth.

Participants complete a monthly budget, credit plan, and 90-day financial action strategy.
